Despite the cold weather Spring is definitely in the way and the new Barbour range has just arrived instore. Here is a taster of some of the new products, click on the link on teh homepage to view the full range.

A stylish and versatile microfibre that’s been developed for the summer equestrian and is great for active country wear. It’s lightweight and comfortable, a waterproof breathable and fully machine washable. There are plenty of pockets and when the weather turns, velcro cuff fastenings a detachable peaked hood and studded front with two-way zip will also keep you dry.

A Barbour classic that’s really easy to wear, the Liddesdale is currently being ‘re-discovered’ by a whole new generation and comes in funky new colours like Apple. Don’t let that put you off though – if you can’t bear to change, its still available in good old Navy and Black.

Many of you will be aware that in its past Barbour was closely associated with International Motorcycle Trials. This illustration was on the front cover of our 1959 catalogue and we thought it worked rather well as a Tee shirt for 2006. We’ve also borrowed the 1920 ‘Weather Comfort’ cover as an alternative.

Judging by the response we’ve already had to our ladies coloured quilts it was clear that there are plenty of you out there who love our bright new look. Both quilts are gently shaped to fit at the waist and come with a contrast inner liner and are fully machine washable. With a choice of colours including Celery, China Blue or Rosewater in our Shaped Microfibre Quilt Short and Stone, Pink, Banana, Carmine, China Blue and Celery in our Shaped Flyweight Quilt there are now plenty of variations to keep you happy.
 
Now while our traditional waxed cotton jackets have many virtues, being washable is not one of them. So our innovative colleagues in South Shields have come up with an alternative fabric for summer we’ve called ‘lumicotton’. It looks and feels like waxed cotton but holds an oiled finish even when washed. The other great benefit is that it allows Barbour to use bright summer colours where a traditional wax treatment would darken them down.

This year there are more colours than ever in our lightweight cotton Sports piques for men and for women. So there is now no excuse for not being completely co-ordinated.

We’ve done lots of work on our new trousers to get the fit absolutely right. We’ve used a range of fabrics including a comfortable stretched cotton and we’ve even provided shorts for the traditional British summer.
