The JOOP! Jeans Spring/Summer 2006 collection focuses on casual city style with a touch of ruggedness, featuring easy-going, nonchalant cuts. Natural fabrics such as linen and cotton, pure or mixed, play a central role. Outlines are relaxed, yet tailored and slim. Easy-to-wear field jackets with accordion pockets, shoulder flaps and casual seaming are real attention-getters. Casual blousons in high-tech nylons definitely pay tribute to sporting inspiration, in textured, washed and bleached effects. Classic jackets are comfortable yet retain all their fitted flair, with quality garment-dyed colourways ensuring an ultra-smart effect. Trousers again focus on slim cargo styles in washed linen mixes, plus cotton that's finished like denim to create washed and used effects with saddle stitching. Seersucker striped fabrics are also important. The collection introduces a host of new variations on denim, from loose-fit styles and raw denim to subtle bleached washes. Shirts feature an array of fascinating, painstaking details, in light cotton and linen looks. Washed oxfords and saddle stitching or dividing seams underline the casual style. Neutral shades of Optical White, Marshmallow or Beige and Sand are given added dash with stronger tones of Green and Sun Yellow. Riveting warm/cold contrasts are created by matching, say, Turquoise to Lilac.
